Game of Thrones Actor Ian Gelder Has Died

British actor Ian Gelder, best known for his role as Kevan Lannister in the HBO series "Game of Thrones," has died at the age of 74.

Gelder's death was announced by his husband, Paul Daniels, on Twitter.

"It is with profound sorrow that I must announce the passing of my beloved husband, Ian Gelder," Daniels wrote. "Ian was an extraordinary man, and his loss is a devastating blow to our family and friends."

Gelder appeared in 12 episodes of "Game of Thrones" as Kevan Lannister, the younger brother of Tywin Lannister and the Hand of the King to Tommen Baratheon.

He also had roles in the films "The Bourne Identity" (2002), "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" (2005), and "The Iron Lady" (2011).

Gelder was born in London, England, in 1946. He began his acting career in the theater, appearing in productions of "Hamlet," "Macbeth," and "King Lear."

In addition to his acting work, Gelder was also a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. He was a board member of the Stonewall Group, a British LGBTQ+ rights organization.

Gelder is survived by his husband, Paul Daniels, and his two sons, Jesse and Max.
